Kittenness!

Perhaps this is me trying to pull myself out of the funk I've been in for the past several weeks. I can live with that. I took Pooka to the vet today because she's been scratching at her chin a lot lately. Turns out she's got acne. Aroo? I didn't know cats got acne! Anyway, the cat clinic also has a large adoption program -- that's where I got Pooka, in fact. And today, they had (*gasp*) KITTENS! So while Pooka cried and whined in her cat carrier, I looked at the kittens. Several of them stole my heart away, but the biggest thief was a little black 8 week old named Cornelius. I picked him up and he absolutely sprawled in my arms and purred loud enough to hear across the lobby, looking up at me with big grayish eyes. So I adopted him. I could've brought him home today, but I'm not quite ready. No supplies for an extra cat, and things are kinda messy. I'd lose him under a pile of homework! But I'm picking him up Monday. This makes me absurdly happy. I've wanted to get a second cat ever since I got Pooka.

I think I need a better name than Cornelius though. I'd like to stick with the faerie motif, maybe, or maybe go with a White Wolf splat motif -- which Bastets are the panthery ones? I'd considered Brownie, but that would confuse the mundanes because he's black. ;) Heh. I should do some faerie mythology research...
