Whaddya think of Rumpus for
Whaddya think of Rumpus for a kitty name? My user icon, by the way, is a picture of him peeking at me over the bathtub rim. :)
Okay, at the risk of
Okay, at the risk of this becoming a kitten blog... Rumpus (is that his name? I'm starting to think so) thinks there are three cats in the house. Himself, Pooka, and the little black kitten he keeps bumping his head trying to pounce. You know, the one in the mirror.
Also, I think I'm going to need to kittenproof my cabinets. I went into the bathroom to see him a few minutes ago, and he was nowhere. Not behind the toilet, not in the bathtub, not anywhere. Then I notice that one of the cabinets is cracked open. I look inside, and amidst the new mess there, are two big eyes peeking out at me. I'm so in love. :)
Pooka remains unconvinced. She isn't hissing and growling as much, but she's watching. Closely. In case that little black furball starts causing trouble. Whenever he's out of the bathroom playing, she goes in and gives everything a thorough sniffing. Food, litterbox, bed, everything. Interestingly, she hasn't tried to eat the food. I figure she's maybe trying to get used to his scent? I'm assuming she realizes he's a baby cat, but that may be assuming too much...

While you know it is necessary to keep in contact with other living beings, most of the time you enjoy the seclusion of an aesthetically pleasing, woodland environment. |
Look at this little guy,
Look at this little guy, will you?
His legs are as big around as my fingers and are twice as long as his torso is tall. He's the gangliest kitten I've ever seen. Pooka still doesn't know what to think. She hisses and growls, but not as much as last night. Mostly now she just watches. And if he starts making noise in the bathroom (playing or meowing), she goes and stares at the door. I'm hoping maybe she won't hate him after all.
