26. Son of the Shadows, Juliet Marillier

The first book in the trilogy, Daughter of the Forest, had me green with envy for how it retold Celtic myth. This second book doesn't specifically retell any myth at all, although there are a lot of parallels to certain stories, most of which are told somewhere in the course of the book. It picks up with Sorcha's daughter, Liadan, and follows her story. It's not quite as compelling as the first book (it took me a month to read it, because I kept getting sidetracked into other books), but it's still quite good. I'll probably start reading the last book in the trilogy as soon as I finish my library books.
